Description:
*1:00PM Update*
The issues causing a variety of connectivity issues to & from the campus network appear to be resolved at this time.  The root cause is still being investigated, but appears to be related to routing Internet connection routing issues.  Further work to resolve these issues and avoid future problems may be necessary in the next few days.

*Original Post*
Beginning at approximately 9:15am, I&TS began receiving notification of general network disruptions affecting the ability to connect to campus resources.  We are aware of the issue and actively working on a resolution.  More information will be posted here when it is available.

Service(s) Impacted: Including but not necessarily limited to: Sakai, Banner, Gmail, Google Apps, VPN, DUO, Campus Calendar, Web Help Desk, Campus Network, ePass, Library

*COMPLETE* Netstor Unavailable during Continuous Improvement Work-- Wednesday, March 26, 2020 6:00pm-9:00pm

9:55 pm We've completed the scheduled maintenance of Netstor.  It involved implementing the latest version of Windows Server for Netstor.  Unfortunately, that update resulted in the loss of existing drive mappings to Netstor folders for some users.  Those users will need to recreate their mappings.  You can pursue the normal help channels if you need help recreating your mappings.

9:00 pm The maintenance tasks are taking longer than necessary.  The system will continue to be offline until all work is completed.  We will update again no later than 10:00 pm.

*** UPDATE *** March 27, 6:00am PT - Sakai is currently offline for planned maintenance. The Sakai Support team is working to restore this service by 7:30am (if not before).

WHERE: Internet Service In & Out of Campus including VPN

Current Status: Resolved

Description:
*Complete*
Primary work was completed during this maintenance period.  Some residual routing issues persisted at the end of the work session and after further troubleshooting appear to have stabilized.  Future work with one or more of our ISPs may be necessary in order to verify proper internet service routing.  Any followup work will be scheduled at a later date.

In order to ensure reliable service to campus resources during this period of unusually high demand, Information & Technology Services will be performing some urgent updates to equipment supporting our campus Internet service.  This will cause a series of disruptions to our Internet service, including VPN services.  Every effort will be made to minimize the disruption during the maintenance period, but users should anticipate an outage lasting the entire duration of the time identified.
