WHAT:  Unplanned ePass Authentication Disruption Resolved

Current Status:  Resolved

Description:  Around 5:00pm on Sunday, April 28, the certificate for the ePass login server had expired, causing browsers like Chrome to report, "Your connection is not private:
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from allotropa.plu.edu (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards)." I&TS staff began work to restore the certificate as soon as the issue was reported, and a new certificate was installed by 6:50pm, resolving the issue. This disruption affected only those users who attempted to login during this interval.

Service(s) Impacted:  ePass login services impacting Sakai, Banner, Gmail, Google Apps, Campus Calendar, Web Help Desk, Campus Network, etc.

Root Cause / Continuous Improvement:  Expired certificate.

WHAT: Voyager and EzProxy will both be down for system updates.

WHEN: 04/26/19 Duration: 6:00 am to 7:00 am

Current Status: Closed

Description: The Voyager system, which controls library user accounts, checkouts, and holdings information (including location and call number of print materials) will be offline for maintenance and upgrades.  Also the library's EZProxy server will be offline for approximately one hour for an upgrade. Off campus access to library resources will not be available during this time.

Description:
*Update*
Etrieve service was restored this morning around 8:00am after identifying the missing configuration element.

*Original Post*
Late this afternoon, the Etrieve service went offline.  I&TS staff has been investigating the cause of the outage, but has yet to identify a cause or determine a path to service restoration.  We will continue to troubleshoot and work with our support resources to restore service as soon as possible.
