Web Help Desk and Search & Directory Unavailable for Maintenance - Fri., Feb. 15, 6am

*** UPDATE *** February 15, 6:45am PT - Web Help Desk and  PLU Search & Directory are now back online. The planned maintenance is complete.

*** UPDATE *** February 15, 6:00am PT - Web Help Desk and PLU Search & Directory are currently offline or intermittently available due to planned maintenance. I&TS support staff are working to restore these services by 7:00am (if not before).

WHAT:  Web Help Desk and PLU Search & Directory Unavailable for Maintenance

WHEN:  02/15/19   Duration:  6:00am - 7:00am PT

Description:  On Friday, February 15, 2019, system maintenance will be performed from 6:00am to 7:00am (US Pacific Time) on servers that host Web Help Desk (helpdesk.plu.edu) and PLU Search & Directory (search.plu.edu). Consequently, these web services will be disrupted during this interval. However, maintenance might be completed in much less time. An update to this notice will be posted once the maintenance is complete.

*CANCELLED* Planned ISP Outage - Wednesday, February 13, 2019 - 12:00 AM to 4:00AM

WHAT: PLU Internet Service Provider Planned Maintenance

WHEN: 2/13/2019 Duration: Estimated 1 hour between 12:00 AM - 4:00 AM

WHERE: Internet service in and out of the campus network

Current Status: Cancelled

Description:
*Update*  This work was cancelled at the last minute and will be rescheduled.  A new status message will be posted when information becomes available.

*Original Post*
Our primary ISP has been notified by their fiber carrier of planned maintenance to to be performed in the early morning on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.  The maintenance window is scheduled from 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM.  An outage of 1 hour is possible, however the entire window is reserved.

During this maintenance our Internet service should automatically switch to using our secondary ISP for all traffic.  However, during the transition period at the start and end of the maintenance users may experience disruption to their connections.  Under certain conditions some disruption throughout the maintenance period is possible as well, but all services should resume normally when the maintenance is complete.

Service Impacted: Campus Internet Service

Workarounds: Secondary ISP should handle most of our Internet service needs.

Sakai Unavailable for Maintenance - Fri., Feb. 8, 6am

*** UPDATE *** February 8, 7:26am PT - Sakai is back online. The planned maintenance is complete.

*** UPDATE *** February 8, 7:05am PT - Sakai is still currently offline. An unexpected problem affecting one of the Sakai servers arose during maintenance, and I&TS staff are working to restore the Sakai service as soon as possible.

*** UPDATE *** February 8, 6:00am PT - Sakai is currently offline for planned maintenance. The Sakai Support team is working to restore this service by 7:00am (if not before).
