Network Maintenance during evening hours Tuesday (1/31) through Friday (2/3)

WHAT: PLU Campus Network Maintenance

WHEN: 01/31/2023 Duration: Evening hours beginning around 8:00PM each night

WHERE: PLU Campus

Current Status: Open

Description: I&TS is completing a series of network maintenance work as part of the final stage of an over two-year project to migrate to a new network architecture and access control system.  The changes the next few nights should generally not be widely noticeable, but may result in device across campus getting new IP address assignments between 8pm and the following early morning hours.

Impact to users: There may be brief disruptions to network access as each building transitions to the new configuration.  If you experience connectivity issues that are not resolved in 10-20 minutes it is likely a reboot of the device should resolve the issue.  Similarly, if you arrive to work following changes the night before, a reboot of the device before contacting the Help Desk is recommended.

The anticipated progression for work follows:
  • Tuesday Night starting 8pm 1/31/23:  Blomquist House, USA House, Carol Sheffels Quigg Greenhouse, Hong Hall, Trinity House, 518 House (former CCES), Columbia Center, Facilities Management. Graduate Programs & Continuing Education, Health Services Center, Music House, Karen Hille Phillips Center, Keck Observatory, MarCom Customer Service, Martin J. Neeb Center, Nesvig Alumni Center, Swimming Pool, Wang Center

  • Wednesday Night starting 8pm 2/1/23:  Harstad Hall, Hinderlie Hall, Ingram Hall, Kreidler Hall, Memorial Gym & Names Fitness Center, Olson Auditorium, Ordal Hall, Pflueger Hall, South Hall, Stuen Hall, Tingelstad Hall, portions of the campus-wide wireless networks

  • Thursday Night starting 8pm 2/2/23:  Anderson University Center, Garfield Commons / 208 Garfield, Garfield Station, Hauge Administration Building, Mary Baker Russell Music Center, Morken Center for Learning & Technology, Mortvedt Library, Ramstad Hall, Rieke Science Center, Xavier Hall, portions of the campus-wide wireless networks

  • Friday Night:  No planned activity, but any necessary followup/cleanup work may occur.

ePass Single Sign-On System Maintenance - 2/2/2023 at 6:00 AM

WHAT: ePass Single Sign-On System Maintenance

WHEN: 02/02/2023 Duration: 30 minutes

Current Status: Open

Update 7:50am: Issues were encountered during system maintenance, which resulted in a longer service outage than planned, but at this point, ePass Single Sign-On service is restored. Thank you for your patience.

Description: System maintenance will be performed on the ePass Single Sign-On service on Thursday, February 2 at 6:00 AM, which will take an estimated 30 minutes to complete. During this time, ePass Single Sign-On will be disrupted intermittently, which will affect login to online services, such as Banner, Gmail, Sakai, Help Desk, etc. Users who are already logged into these services when maintenance begins should not experience service disruptions.
