Planned Internet Service Provider Outage - Friday, September 20, 2019 - 12:01AM to 05:00AM

WHAT: PLU Internet Service Provider Planned (Emergency) Maintenance

WHEN: 09/20/19 Duration:  Up to 2 hours total

WHERE: Internet service in and out of campus

Current Status: Complete

Description: One of PLU's Internet Service Providers notified us of emergency maintenance work they will need to perform affecting one of our Internet connections.  This work is scheduled between Midnight and 5:00AM Friday morning, September 20th.  According to our ISP we can expect that our "service(s) will experience up to 8 disruption events that can last up to 15 minutes each in length."

PLU has multiple ISP connections and has designed our connectivity to utilize both links whenever possible.  During this maintenance our Internet service should automatically switch to our secondary ISP for all traffic. However, during the transition period at the start and end of the maintenance users may experience disruption to their connections.

Service(s) Impacted: Campus Internet Service

Workarounds: Secondary ISP should handle most of our Internet service needs.

Next Update:  Following completion of ISP emergency repairs.

Sakai, Web Help Desk & DSpace Unavailable for Maintenance - Fri., Sept. 20, 6am

*** UPDATE *** September 20, 6:09am PT - Sakai is now back online. Planned maintenance for Web Help Desk and DSpace continues.

*** UPDATE *** September 20, 6:00am PT - Sakai, Web Help Desk, and DSpace are currently offline or intermittently available due to planned maintenance. I&TS support staff are working to restore Sakai by 6:30am and the other services by 7:00am (if not before).

Description:  On Friday, September 20, 2019, system maintenance will be performed from 6:00am to 7:00am (US Pacific Time) on servers that host Sakai (sakai.plu.edu), Web Help Desk (helpdesk.plu.edu), and DSpace (dspace.plu.edu). Consequently, these web services will be disrupted during this interval. However, maintenance might be completed in much less time. An update to this notice will be posted once the maintenance is complete.
