Description: System maintenance will be performed on the ePass Single Sign-On service on Wednesday, December 20 at 6:00 PM, which will take an estimated 30 minutes to complete. During this time, ePass Single Sign-On will be disrupted intermittently, which will affect login to online services, such as Banner, Gmail, Sakai, Help Desk, etc. Users who are already logged into these services when maintenance begins should not experience service disruptions.

Problems Accessing PLU Resources from off campus using Lightcurve/Rainier Connect

WHAT: Lightcurve ISP users reporting issues connecting to PLU resources

WHEN: 12/14/2023

Current Status: Resolved

Description: I&TS Has had multiple reports from off-campus users that are unable to log into PLU resources such as Sakai and Banner.  This appears to be localized to people connecting via the Lightcurve ISP (formerly Rainier Connect).  The issue has been reported to Lightcurve, but we encourage users to report this directly to them as well to make them aware of the scope of the issue.

***UPDATE 12/14/23 at 4:41pm***: The connection issue appears to now be resolved, but further testing will be done to confirm this over then next few days.

Description: After June 14th, 2023 the Duo prompt that users are presented with after logging into a PLU resource will be changing.  Users will be presented with a screen similar to one of the screenshots seen below after they have entered their username and password at the PLU Single Sign-on login page:
 


If you are seeing a screen that does not look like the screenshots above, please reach out to the PLU I&TS Help Desk at 253-535-7525 or helpdesk@plu.edu to confirm what you are seeing is a legitimate prompt from Duo.  This change may also affect your traditional process flow when signing in.  Please let us know if you run into any problems or have questions about the new process.

Description: One of PLU's Internet Service Providers will be performing maintenance on some of their equipment that supports one of our internet connections.  This work is scheduled between 12:00AM (midnight) and 6:00AM on the morning of Thursday, March 23rd.

PLU has multiple ISP connections and has designed our connectivity to utilize all links whenever possible.  During this maintenance, our Internet service will be switched to our secondary ISP for all traffic. However, during the transition periods users may experience disruption to their connections.

Workarounds: Secondary ISP should handle our Internet service needs.

Network Maintenance during evening hours Tuesday (1/31) through Friday (2/3)

WHAT: PLU Campus Network Maintenance

WHEN: 01/31/2023 Duration: Evening hours beginning around 8:00PM each night

Description: I&TS is completing a series of network maintenance work as part of the final stage of an over two-year project to migrate to a new network architecture and access control system.  The changes the next few nights should generally not be widely noticeable, but may result in device across campus getting new IP address assignments between 8pm and the following early morning hours.

Impact to users: There may be brief disruptions to network access as each building transitions to the new configuration.  If you experience connectivity issues that are not resolved in 10-20 minutes it is likely a reboot of the device should resolve the issue.  Similarly, if you arrive to work following changes the night before, a reboot of the device before contacting the Help Desk is recommended.

The anticipated progression for work follows:
