Phishing Scam Targeting PLU

WHAT: Phishing Scam Notice

WHEN: 05/04/2020

Current Status: Open

Service(s) Impacted: Gmail, ePass

Description: On May 4th an email message was sent out to a large number of PLU email accounts pretending to come from Human Resources and claiming to provide updated information about staff benefits.  This is a phishing message that was not sent by PLU staff.  It provides links to a login page that looks very similar to the PLU ePass login page, but is not legitimate.  If you did receive it, please mark the message as phishing in your Gmail account.  If you attempted to sign into the fake ePass login screen, please change your password as soon as possible at epass.plu.edu and do not approve any login attempts that you are prompted for via Duo multi-factor authentication. If you have questions or concerns about the status of your account, please email helpdesk@plu.edu and we will get back to you as quickly as we can.

Check https://www.plu.edu/status/ for periodic updates.
