**Original Post**
During the weekend of May 25-27, 2024 Information & Technology Services will be performing a core network upgrade which involves equipment replacement and moving network connections in both of our campus data centers. This work will cause a series of disruptions to campus network access as well as require taking some services offline during portions of the work.
The primary service impact will be mid-morning to early afternoon on Saturday, May 25th. During that time period several critical services, including Banner & Sakai, will be shutdown to protect them and speed up part of the work.
Continued work later Saturday and through the remainder of the weekend as necessary will involve more brief and localized disruptions to different physical and logical segments of the network as individual building connection or routing configuration changes are made. Generally these later disruptions should be brief for any affected areas.
Banner routine maintenance typically scheduled for Sunday mornings is anticipated for Sunday, May 26th as well. Details about that work will be posted via a separate System Status notice.
